Abstract

Indonesian language learning is one of the compulsory subjects taught from elementary school to university. Indonesian as a national identity has an important position as a means of communication and interaction in life. The growing phenomenon is that today's students are more proud to use foreign languages than their own. Therefore, through learning Indonesian can build the character of students who are noble, love the country, and intelligent. This can be done by connecting Indonesian language skills, such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening with noble character, love for the country, and intelligence in the learning process. This research, which uses a literature study, aims to examine Indonesian language learning that can foster noble character, love for the country, and intelligence. The results of this study show that the implementation of internalizing and fostering noble character, love for the country, and intelligence in Indonesian language learning requires teachers' understanding as curriculum implementers and facilitators for students through learning activities at school on an ongoing basis so that students are not only smart by having good competencies, but also have noble character and are proud to use Indonesian.
