Abstract

This study examines the interpretation of Qur'anic verses related to tolerance and their relevance in multicultural education. The main focus of this research is to explore the values of tolerance contained in the verses of the Qur'an, as well as how its interpretation can be applied in a pluralistic educational context. The research method uses a qualitative approach of literature study and is presented descriptively with thematic interpretation analysis. The results of the study show that the values of tolerance in these verses include respect for religious freedom, the principle of peaceful coexistence, and a dialogical approach in resolving differences. These principles include freedom of religion and justice, principles of faith and belief, and principles of individual and group responsibility. The implementation in multicultural education shows that these values are relevant to form the character of students who are inclusive, respect differences, and are able to contribute to building a harmonious society. By integrating the interpretation of the verses of tolerance into the curriculum, multicultural education can be an effective means to teach tolerance, fostering harmony in a pluralistic society
